“Mindfulness means paying attention in a particular way: on purpose, in the present moment, and non-judgmentally.” Jon Kabat-Zinn
This means being aware of what's happening right now—your thoughts, feelings, and surroundings—without getting caught up in them or judging them. It’s about being present, without worrying about the past or future, and accepting whatever is happening in that moment.
Mindfulness can be practised through traditional meditation—but it can also happen at any moment during the day, often without us even realising it.
For example, when we listen to music and notice how it makes us feel, or when we quietly watch the clouds drifting across the sky.
Mindfulness is a state of being present and aware in the moment, without judgment, while meditation is a more structured practice used to cultivate and deepen that mindfulness. In other words, mindfulness is the ongoing practice, and meditation is one of the tools that can help develop it — although the two terms are sometimes used interchangeably.
In my sessions, we’ll focus on what’s called informal meditation, also known as informal mindfulness.
This approach helps you bring awareness, presence, and inner calm into everyday moments—so you can stay grounded instead of stressed, calm instead of reactive, and fulfilled instead of anxious, whenever you need it.
On top of that, I’ll support you in exploring practices that go beyond mindfulness and encourage positive change in proactive, creative ways—such as practising gratitude or establishing a healthier diet.
Formal meditation offers the opportunity to go 'deeper' into your experience, creating space for profound self-awareness and inner stillness. On the other hand, informal meditation allows you to practice mindfulness more frequently, weaving it into your daily life. Thus, the benefits are the same—such as greater control over your thoughts, better stress management, a deeper sense of presence, and enhanced feelings of happiness—though with a slightly different depth and impact.
Yes! If you already meditate, we can deepen and expand your practice.
